A few years ago, I went to Canada for the first time on business. It was March, the end of hockey’s regular season, when I found out that I would be arriving in British Columbia in April. Naturally, the first thing I did was check to see if the town I was visiting had a local hockey team. Success! The Kelowna Rockets were the local team. According to my Canadian colleagues, the Rockets were a solid team, and there was a good chance that they would still be playing in April.
There was no way this hockey fan could go to Canada for the very first time and not see hockey played on Canadian soil!
We arrived in the Motherland of Hockey during playoff season. Fortune smiled on us, and there was a playoff game scheduled during our business trip. Off we went to Prospera Place, home of the Kelowna Rockets.
I bought tickets for me and my colleagues and together we attended the game. We sat right behind the goaltender and enjoyed the beauty of the Western Hockey League.
